"HIPLE-ACE" is typically a triple-wall corrugated fibreboard mainly used as heavy duty packaging material. The special features of this product are "lightweight, and flexual stiffness". Since 1974 when the production of the triple-wall corrugated fibreboard commenced in Japan, the product has been extensively adopted as indispensable heavy duty packaging materials by a large number of industries in the areas of machinery, automotive parts, computer-related products, metals & nonferrous metals, chemicals, ceramics and so forth.
|
From the historical standpoint, it is to be noted that the specification of the triple-wall corrugated fibreboard was initially established in 1954 in U. S. as Rule 41 of the Uniform Freight Classification and Rule 222 of National Motor Freight Classification. While the process was still under way for officially registering the specification of the triple-wall corrugated fibreboard with the relevant authorities of the U. S. Government, both U. S. Armed Services and Department of Agriculture became highly interested in the product, and attempted to replace their conventional packaging materials of wood and/or steel to the triple-wall corrugated fibreboard which is lower in price and lighter in weight. U.S. Department of Navy in particular immediately launched the program named "Operation Light Pack", and started to use the triple-wall corrugated fibreboard as heavy duty packaging materials for transporting their goods within and without the U.S..
